Tarek Ghandour

Tarek Ghandour Tarek is a Lebanese American living in Houston Texas with a Palestinian mother and a Lebanese father. Tarek started his career at Metito International Inc. in Houston, Texas, in 1981 as Proposals Engineer and apart from a hiatus of 3 years in 1986, he has worked for the company for 30 years. He currently holds the position of International Sales Manager. Project locations ranged from the Middle East, North Africa, West Africa, former CIS as well as Australia.

Experienced in all facets of Metito’s business, Tarek spent time in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as project engineer for Metito Arabia Industries and as a consultant in Boston, MA, for Camp Dresser & McKee, where he designed various industrial and hazardous wastewater treatments plants in Northeast US.

Tarek has a BSc in Civil (Environmental) Engineering and an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Syracuse University, New York.

He received his Professional Engineering license in Maine in 1987.

Committed to enhancing the needs for water recycling and more efficient use of water and wastewater globally, Tarek served on the advisory council for the International Water Conference. He is a member of International Water Desalination and the American Water Works Association.

Tarek enjoys the outdoors, be it snow skiing, water skiing, cycling, kayaking and paddle boarding. He has two kids, a girl who lives in New York and son who lives in Chicago. He is very passionate about our environment and is fully committed to recycling.

Tarek is a strong believer in humanity, civil rights and human dignity. He is very active in similar organizations, be it American Near East Refugee Association (ANERA), Institute for Middle East Understanding (IMEU) or Jewish Voice for Peace.
