Iman AbuAitah

Iman AbuAitah, from Gaza, is the Director of Student Affairs and a Board Member at the Leonard Education Organization (LEO), where she plays a crucial role in student advising, mentorship, and career development. Passionate about education equity, she helps students navigate higher education and achieve their professional aspirations. She also serves as a graphic designer and content writer for LEO, contributing to the organization’s outreach efforts.

As one of LEO’s earliest members, Iman strongly believes in its mission to expand access to high-quality education for brilliant yet underserved Palestinian students, making a lasting impact on their communities.

She holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Biology and English Literature from Columbia College (SC) and a Master’s in Women’s and Gender Studies from Eastern Michigan University. Deeply committed to education, women’s issues, and mental health, she is currently pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Social Work at the University of Washington. Her studies focus on trauma-informed care for individuals affected by displacement and conflict.

In addition to her work at LEO, Iman actively supports refugees in the U.S. through her volunteer roles at the Muslim Community Resource Center and the International Rescue Committee.

Her background in education, social work, and design allows her to provide a holistic approach to student support. Iman’s dedication to empowering underrepresented students is at the heart of her work at LEO, ensuring students receive the resources, mentorship, and guidance they need to thrive in higher education and beyond.
