Alshifaa Fund

This fund is established in honor of Palestinian healthcare workers at Alshifaa Hospital and all medical centers in Gaza. Those who continue to work despite the unbearable conditions of death, loss, bombing, destruction, and starvation. Their unwavering dedication and resilience became an example of how steadfast commitment can redefine what is possible in the face of suffering.

The word “Alshifaa” in Arabic literally means cure or relief. We hope this fund will relieve some of the heavy financial burdens that young Palestinian medical students and doctors have and support them to build on the legacy of dedication and resilience that doctors and medical staff in Gaza have shown the world.

We are fortunate to partner with Leonard Education Organization (LE.O) to ensure students have access to accommodation and board costs (living expenses). Presently, 10 students benefit from your donations to this fund.
Our target is that each student receives 250 USD per month to cover basic living expenses. This includes accommodation cost which ranges from 100-150 USD/per month. Alshifaa fund fully covers this cost, to ensure our students have a safe environment to live and study. The remaining sum goes towards their other living expenses including food, transport, medication, books, clothes, personal items … etc.
In addition, we occasionally contribute to their tuition fees, which is between 3000 USD to 4000 USD per year in public universities, while in national universities tuition is 6000 USD per year.

We welcome all contributions, no matter how small or big. However, we strongly encourage you to consider the monthly option ($100/month), which enables us to continue to better plan and meet students’ needs throughout their studies.
