The Gaza40+ Global Scholarship Fund

The Gaza40+ Global Scholarship Fund was established to support students from Gaza whose education has been disrupted by war, displacement, and the systematic destruction of educational institutions.

The destruction of Gaza’s educational infrastructure has created what many scholars and international organizations have described as “scholasticide” – the systematic erasure of a people’s access to education. Yet thousands of students continue to seek opportunities to learn, contribute to their communities, and build a future beyond conflict.

The Gaza40+ Global Scholarship Fund supports these students while advocating for the structural changes necessary to ensure that educational opportunity is not determined by nationality, geography, financial status, or access to political influence.

Our mission is to advocate for systemic change in government and university policies across the world to ensure fair and equal access to education for all students in Gaza affected by scholasticide, regardless of their situation or perceived chances of success. We are committed to advocating for fair treatment, supporting the removal of bureaucratic and logistical barriers, and ensuring that no student is denied the right to learn because of their location or background.

We are proud to partner with Leonard Education Organization (LE.O), a registered 501(c)(3) with a longstanding record of supporting Palestinian students through financial assistance, mentorship, and long-term educational support. Through this partnership, donations to the fund help students access the resources necessary to continue their education abroad safely and successfully.

The fund supports students from Gaza who hold offers to study at universities around the world and face the disproportionate barriers to reaching them.

Our Objectives

  • Secure consistent, long-term evacuation pathways for Gazan students holding university offers.
  • End the exclusion of self-funded students from evacuation and education support programs.
  • Secure dependent rights for students across all degree levels so that no student is forced to choose between family unity and educational opportunity.
  • Establish centralised systems to track, protect, and support Gazan students navigating admissions, visas, relocation, and enrollment.
  • Work directly with universities to remove practical barriers, including deposit requirements, tuition deadlines, CAS deadlines, fee waivers, emergency funding, and other administrative obstacles.
  • Support students post evacuation in their transition and academic journey outside of Gaza.

Who the Fund Supports

The fund supports students from Gaza whose education has been disrupted by conflict, displacement, or the destruction of educational infrastructure. Priority is given to students who have received offers from recognised higher education institutions and who face significant financial barriers to accessing their studies.

Support may be provided regardless of whether a student is fully funded, partially funded, or self-funded, reflecting our commitment to equal access and fair treatment for all students. All applications are assessed through a transparent and non-discriminatory vetting process based on demonstrated need, educational opportunity, and the practical barriers facing the applicant. Decisions are made without regard to family status, means of funding, university ranking, field of study, or subjective judgments about a student’s perceived likelihood of success.
