The Palestinian Futures Fund is a higher education scholarship initiative led by university faculty and staff across the United States who stand in unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people in their struggle for freedom. As people of conscience at institutions of higher learning, we believe that support for justice in Palestine and free Palestinian futures means ensuring opportunities for young Palestinians and their right to an education.
We are partnering with Leonard Education Organization (LE.O), a registered 501(c)(3) with an incredible track record of providing support to Palestinian students financially and through mentorship and relationships that last well beyond graduation from their respective institutions.
The Futures Fund, like LE.O., is guided not by an impulse to charity but by a collective commitment to investing in the potential of young Palestinians most in need.
We welcome contributions from everyone, but especially invite educators to be core donors to the fund (either via a one time or recurring donation). However, we strongly encourage you to consider the monthly option (starting at $20/month to whatever amount you can give), which enables the organization to better plan and meet students’ needs for tuition, books, and room and board throughout the academic year.
Since the Palestinian Futures Fund has zero administrative costs (except transfer fees), every dollar from your monthly contribution will go directly to supporting the education and lives of young Palestinian leaders.
In time, we also hope that the faculty donors to the Futures Fund can and will serve as an added network of resources for these students as they pursue internships, graduate degrees, medical residencies, and more.
Who the Palestinian Futures Fund supports:
Applicants to the fund must be Palestinian and hold refugee or displaced status, demonstrate financial need, and show evidence of academic potential or achievement. It is open to Palestinian students pursuing any degree in any country, with preference given to Palestinians from the Gaza Strip pursuing undergraduate degrees and students lacking other financial resources or opportunities.
